31 Days to a New you: Day 21:  Make your job work for you
Feeling tired every day when you come home from work because all your energy goes to survive another day at work? If you belong to those who feel stressed and tired at work it is now time to do something about that. It's time to make your job work for you!

Our job has a bigger impact on our lives than we realize sometimes. We spend half our life at work really so we must make sure we spend it well. Unfortunately too many of us feel tired and stressed at work but do nothing about it.

For you not to go home with an invisible rucksack with 10 kilos on your shoulders when you leave work you need to make sure that you still have energy once you are at home. By making sure you have a good day at work you will make sure you have more energy to deal with your personal life and most important of all; you will perform better at work the next day.



How to make your job work for you:

* Figure out what it is that make you tired; do you need several mini breaks instead of a big one? Is it your colleagues, do you need to work more as a team? Are you in need of a change and learn something new? Is it the environment you work in? Perhaps a change of color and some plants can make it a more positive environment?

Talk to your boss. Don't be afraid to say what you feel, surely he/she understand that the better you feel at work the better you will do your job. If your boss has no idea on how to improve your workplace suggest you contact a firm specialized in improving work environments.

Ask your colleagues, perhaps they feel the same and would like some help as well.

Change your eating habits. Too many eat badly at work and eat more calories than they need and less nutrients than they should. Instead of spending money on cakes on your coffee break suggest to your colleagues that you get a fruit basket delivered to your office a few times a week. Swap that cake for a fruit can make an enormous difference when it comes to staying healthy. The cakes will only give you unnecessary sugar while the fruit will fill you up on vitamins as well as still your hunger a little.

Wellness programs are becoming more and more common and some workplaces invest in their employees and encourage them to exercise or go for a massage during working hours. This leaves the employers more relaxed and energetic and the employers satisfied as their employees work much better.

For you to stay healthy and have the energy to live a healthy life you need to make sure work doesn't take all your energy. Make sure that 2008 you make your job work for you and not only you for it!
