31 Days to a New you: Day 2 Break the bad breakfast habits!
I cannot live without breakfast; I have to eat something in the morning. There is a lovely little bakery in my neighborhood that makes delicious white bread rolls and I gladly eat them but my conscience is always telling me I shouldn't eat it too much.

Bread is good, it gives us important nutrients but there is bread that is better than white bread rolls. You can either buy good healthy bread or make your own. I prefer to make my own one but this year I haven't had much time to make bread so the bakery has supplied me with my daily bread.

Some eat bread in the morning; some eat cheerios, cornflakes, toast with jam, muesli or something else that gives us energy to start our day. I want to introduce you to the best breakfast I know: A fruity breakfast!

One day I told myself to stop eating those lovely bread rolls and start eating lots of fruit instead. The reason was that I wanted to break the vicious circle of sugar and white flour that only led me to crave sweets after a while. Now a few weeks afterwards of only eating fruits for breakfast and drinking much more water everyday I feel so much better and the sugar craving is absolutely under control or to say about non-existing actually.

Of course fruit contains sugar as well, but not the white refined sugar that we find in cereals and jam for example. I believe that it is much better to eat fruit than stuffing myself full of white flour and sugar in the morning.

I didn't weigh myself before I changed my morning routines but I feel much lighter and by having a healthy breakfast I want to make sure I have a healthy day in general.

Starting from tomorrow, which is a Monday and a perfect day to start a new life many think, I suggest you throw out the white bread and add bread with fibers and also add fruit to your breakfast.

Depending on what kind of work you do and what kind of activities and exercise, you will need more or less energy. So if you have a job that requires more energy then change your bread to a whole grain one as fruit might not still your hunger. If you have a sedentary life you won't need that much energy and changing only to fruit can get you started. It's about breaking the bad breakfast habits!

This is an important part of how to get control over your sugar cravings.
If you find yourself wanting sweets more than just once in a while but several times throughout the day then it's about time to start changing that! And it starts with a healthy breakfast. Eat as much fruit as you want until lunchtime.

Mission for today so you can start your healthy breakfast habits tomorrow: Go and buy fruits (and whole grain bread and plain yogurt). Make a fruit salad of your favorite fruits, if you want to you can add plain yogurt for a change, do not add any sugar or jam! Promise yourself that you will try this new breakfast for only one week. I believe you will not want to go back to your old habits. Then tell me how your week was.

But I don't like fruit!?! Well do you know what; we don't always like what is good for us. Are you willing to start a new healthy life or will you cheat your way through it? I didn't like olives; I hated olives, until the day I decided to eat them. I took out a jar of olives and started eating them making very funny faces but today I love olives. See; we can change our taste as well; you must be willing to change though.

This is the 2nd day of 31 Days to a New You, where you get ready for a new healthy year. Read more here on how to start a new healthy year in 31 days.
