When you become a parent you want to make sure your kids get the best of life. You want to save money for their education, make sure they are dressed well, have nice friends and get a good job when that time comes. But there is something we sometimes forget as stressed parents; teaching our kids to live a healthy life.
Living a healthy life should be all children's rights because that is the base of a happy long life. Therefore you as a parent should make sure your kids have a healthy life from the beginning.
We tend to forget that all the diseases that usually happen when we get older actually can happen when you are young. Diabetes, obesity and much more can still hit you when you are only a child.
As an adult you know how difficult it is to create new healthy habits so that's why it's important you start early with your own children. Children usually don't like vegetables but if you make sure you always serve vegetables then it will become a natural part of their life. They might not eat it but one day they will try. Try different vegetables, perhaps your child likes another vegetable than tomatoes or cucumber. Try carrots with oranges as a salad instead of the normal salad or something different. I have learned that my child doesn't like parsley or other green "leafy things" in the salad but without that he eats almost anything.
A healthy life also consists of some type of activity. If you are not a sporty parent then why not try to take up a sport that your child like so you can spend some quality time together? Sometimes we need to sacrifice ourselves as parent to be with our kids. But we gladly do that, don't we. *lol*
There is no need to wait until your child becomes a teenager for him to start eating salad or join the soccer team, start early and you will create healthy habits for your child. And in the end, after all the frustration that your child is not eating vegetables or doesn't like to play soccer, you will see that he will thank you the day he realizes that he likes tomatoes more than cucumbers and he prefers to play tennis than soccer.
We say our children is the hope for the future, lets make sure they get a healthy future.
