Afternoon siesta

Afternoon siesta

The afternoon siesta is common in many countries and it´s a tradition that is not very likely to stop.

As little as 30 minute siesta a day can lower the risk of a heart related death with 37%. That is what a greek study found after six years of researching the subject. From BBC News:

The researchers found those who took naps of any frequency and duration had a 34% lower risk of dying from heart disease than those who did not take midday naps.
Those who took naps of more than 30 minutes three or more times a week had a 37% lower risk.

Most of us don´t have the opportunity to take a nap at lunch time or during the afternoon. Try to find a peaceful place during lunch and relax as much as you can. It will help you in the long run and you can work better for the rest of the day.

Do you take an afternoon nap?
