Are the Swedes getting chubby?

when she gets in her teens.
Researchers are now trying to prevent this problem for Swedish girls. A recent study shows that Swedish girls are more overweight than Swedish boys.
An analysis of children who are overweight - not obese - the percentage of overweight 4-year-olds has roughly doubled to 20 percent for girls and 18 percent for boys during the same 20-year period. (Generally, a child 42 inches tall weighing 50 pounds would be considered obese; the same child weighing 45 pounds would be considered overweight.)They still don't know the explanation for this, Sweden is considered to be a slim country and has been so for a long time. Being Swedish myself I think this is interesting. Swedish people are very health concerned and you can find excellent food options in the supermarket. With food from all over the world it's easy to get a bit carried away when planning what to eat.
The above has to be connected to what the Swedish people are eating. The traditional "husmanskost", good food to keep you going for a long day at work, is slowly disappearing. We are now more open minded and want to try need food, we experiment more and that leads to a different food consumption. Not necessarily a good one.
Hopefully it doesn't get to the point when half of the population are obese.
