Are you a sugar addict?

addict? I am I can tell you. And I try to fight it all the time. There is this feeling that I need sugar and can't live without it.
Of course I can live without it but I prefer a little sweetness in my life.
Sugar cravings depend on many thing, mainly our lifestyle. Being fed a lot of carbohydrates since we are small means that we become insulin resistant.
So we have it, but how do we get rid of it? Many people say they don't crave any sugar after totally deleting it from their food intake.
I think that first you shouldn't feel bad about wanting sugar. That will only make the matter worse. You will feel more guilty for wanting it and be more aware of your craving. What you need to do is take small steps to slowly get rid of it.
Basic rules:
Eat regularly, if you know that your sugar craving get to you around 3 pm then make sure you do something about if before that.
Eat more fibers! A full tummy is less likely to want more sugar.
Experiment in the kitchen to find new recipes with less sugar.
Take a look at what it is you are putting in your mouth. Maybe it contains more sugar than you realize?
Learn to say no! You don't have to eat that dessert. Saying no because you made a choice is better than saying no because you are limiting yourself. It's a matter of thinking.
Realizing you are a sugar addict will get you a long way, now you just need to do something about it.
Have you gotten rid of your sugar addiction? How did you do it?
