If you really want to be successful in your diet and lose some weight, try watching out for some common eating habits many people practice when dining in the very comfort of their own homes.
1. Eating too much of the low-fat food. Just because it's labeled low-fat doesn't mean you can increase the serving portions you consume. A low-fat cookie, for example, will not add to your weight only if you have one piece at a time.
2. Eating in front of the TV. This causes most people to be distracted by the show too much, they often fail to see how much food that are actually consuming. Watching TV while dining causes you to focus on your meal more and makes you lose track of the amount you are eating. Separate these two activities from each other and you will start to see good results.
3. Serving too much food at the dining table. When there are leftovers sitting around on the table, most people's tendency is to immediately go for seconds and thirds. The best way to cut down on extra calories is to put a full serving portion on your plate at the start of each meal and then immediately put the rest of the food on the kitchen counter so that it is far away from your reach.
4. Loading up on the groceries. Knowing that you have a lot of food in stock often contributes to a tendency to pig out during meals. Start your diet at the grocery store by buying only the things you know you will need for the next few days.
