Healthy eating on a budget
Eating well when you are on a budget can seem difficult if you are not sure what to eat. Usually the cheap can substitute seems like a better option for your wallet but what is it doing to your health?

I once lived on canned spaghetti when I was trying to cut down on expenses. It was the most horrible thing I have ever tasted and not worth the 9 pence that it cost. At that time I hadn´t developed my cooking skills very much so I didn´t know that I could make better and healthier food and still save money. Today I won´t touch the ready made stuff on the supermarket shelves.

If you are on a budget and want to save money on food but still make sure you eat well do a search for frugal housekeeping and food and you will find many good sites helping you. Or ask your mother for her best tip.

Get Rich Slowly has about Healthy food on an unhealthy budget; there you will find many links and comments that can help you a long way.

My own tip is to plan. Planning is essential when you are on a tight budget. Clean out your cupboards and use everything you can of what you already have at home. Plan around that. And something that has helped me saving is only doing my food shopping once a month. Milk and other things aren't included but the basic is only done once a month.

How do you stay healthy when money is tight?
