Don't worry, it's really easy to get a hang of the language used in gyms.

Reps or Repetitions; this is the number of repetitions you do of an exercise. This is mostly used when talking about weight training.
You need to rest in between your repetitions so you need Recovery Time. The time varies but is usually around 30 seconds to 90 seconds. Try not to extend your recovery time to long.
When you repeat an exercise several times it´s called sets.
Abs is for abdominal, but you probably already know that one. There is however a list of gym lingo you should know when you go to the gym to make sure you get the right information when working out.
Well once you´ve learned that you have to learn the key sentences as well. If someone says: will you spot me? Do you know what that means? Basically it means assisting someone lifting weights.
If you are a man you might find this lingo quiz funny.
Check out the gym lingo and have fun in the gym!
