Making decisions for a healthier life
Filed in archive Stay Healthy on May 28, 2007
We have options, thankfully we are in charge of the decisions we make.
We get information everyday regarding fitness and health and everything else that is important in life. Or that is suppose to be important.
But what do we do with all the information?
You know that you should eat better, that is you should eat less fat and not eat sweets and fill half of your plate with vegetables. But do you?
You know how to cook healthy, but do you?
You know you should exercise at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. But do you?
You know you should... the list is endless really. You can add everything you want to this list and then see if you are actually doing all you should.
Probably not. Most of us go a bit easy on the "you should" stuff. We think that our life is too short to limit ourselves. When in fact we are limiting ourselves and our life by not following the "you should" list.
Knowing is one thing and to do it another. That is why we should think through the choices we make and how they affect us in the long run. If you neglect your health today it will still show tomorrow.
Making decisions for a healthier life should be something we all do.
The most important thing on the "you should" list should be:
You should make sure you make the right decisions for your life and follow them.
That includes all the eating healthier and exercise more decisions.
Do you?

The problem is often priorities. I'm no longer my first priority and there are only so many hours in a day.. Maybe a sad excuse. Maybe I should re-think?

Well that's the problem when you ahve kids. you start limiting yourself putting your kids needs first. Which is great but also bad.
We have to try and balance everything, but it's not easy.
