Natural sugar boost

After an hour of hard training you come out from the gym and your body starts saying: "give me sugar, I need to eat now!"
You try not to but after a while you give in and go for a piece of chocolate or something else that is high in sugar.
To avoid the "after training sugar craving" you need to be prepared. If you know that after your training you will be in need of a snack then go for good options. This is especially in between meals when it´s still not time to eat lunch or dinner. A quick fix so to say.
Some examples of what you can have ready;
A simple fruit salad made out of papaya, apple and pear. Or add other fruits depending on season; "high sugar" fruits include; Melon, grapes, pineapple, banana and dried fruit except dried apricots. But of course, any of these are better than a piece of chocolate.
A handful of nuts can also save you until it´s time to eat. Cashew nuts, sunflower seeds, pine nuts, and even peanuts. Nuts are high in natural fat but still that doesn´t mean you can eat a lot. A handful is usually enough.
Eat an egg. Eating an egg is a great sugar boost killer.
Natural yogurt with fruit or nuts.
Green olives; the salty taste will get rid of any sugar craving.
It´s not difficult to avoid the after training sugar boost. You only need to find other food to eat instead of sugar loaded sweets. Go for fruit and have a natural sugar boost instead of chocolate.
What is you favorite after training snack? Personally I am weak for olives and eggs. I make sure to always have cold ready boiled eggs in the fridge in case of a sugar craving.
