Participate in a walking challenge
Challenges are great for our self esteem, if we go through with what we promised ourselves of course. Competing against ourselves can be too easy. If you don´t tell anyone about your results you are more likely to come up with excuses for not keeping it up.
Participating in a walking challenge is great.
I recently found a Walking Challenge at WAHM.com, a forum for work at home moms. The challenge is for ten days and you report how far you will walk and what your goal is. You should try to check in everyday to tell if you walked or not, just so that you keep up your motivation. The moms in there are fantastic and very encouraging.
Don´t want to participate in that particular challenge why not start your own? If you have a blog then tell your readers you are going to report your walks everyday for ten days.
For non blogger; check out all the different fitness and walking forums that are around and start a challenge yourself. Others will be motivated by you and follow in you steps.
You can also start a challenge with your friends. Set a goal of how far you are going to walk and encourage each other.
Need a little more motivation before starting? Why not join Walking with Attitude. There you can track how far you have walked and what your goal is.
Walking Challenge is family Christian home schooling site where you can join their Yahoo group and tell about your walks.
If you live in San Fransisco you can participate in the Shape Up Walking Challenge that is on from October 3rd to December 5.
The Slovenia Walking Challenge is on now in September. It is a fund raising walk in beautiful Sloveninan landscape.
A challenge is supposed to be fun, challenge yourself to walk at least one mile per day. That shouldn´t really be so difficult now should it?
