Regular walking for more energy
Filed in archive Exercises For Everyone on August 27, 2007
About three months ago I started walking more regularly with a friend of mine.
We walk twice a week for about an hour. We usually walk quite fast but not so fast that we won't be able to talk.
We vary where we walk but we have a route that we know will take about an hour, if we have walked very fast we will continue until we have walked for an hour.
The other day I started thinking about how the walking has changed my life. If it has changed anything. One of the reasons we started walking was because we wanted to shed some weight. She has recently had a baby and I still got some of that baby fat left from my pregnancy. Well we haven't lost any weight because of our walking that's for sure. But I feel that I have gained something more important.
First of all our friendship has grown closer as we have been walking every week. That does well to anyone, even if you don't want to lose weight.
But the second best thing is the extra energy I feel now.
When I come back from our walks I feel energized and full of life. And after analyzing a bit further I can say that I have more energy now than I did three months ago. And that is only from regular walking twice a week.
So even if you are already a quite active person you will benefit from regular walking.
And the weight I want to lose? Well we'll see about that I think I have to increase the walking a bit then and reduce my cake eating if that´s going to happen.
Are you a regular walker, do you feel that it has improved your energy?
