Spinning

So what is spinning? Spinning is basically indoor cycling, you cycle to music and follow your instructors instructions.
The music is usually up-beat, fast and pumping so that you will feel the energy within you and cycle faster.
After the first class your body will probably ache a lot but after a few sessions you won't feel anything.
The instructor will take you up and down hills and make you work your body until you think you can't take it anymore. Of course there are no hills because you are inside but you can easily get the same effect by changing your resistance knob that is applied to every bike.
You can measure your heart rate and see how many calories you are burning at the same time if you wish. Because you work your body so intensively you will burn more calories than a usual exercise class.
The length of the class varies but usually it's a 40-50minutes long class. That includes warm-up and cool down time.
It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an experiences spinner, because of the resistance knob you can alternate and make it suit you and your fitness level.
So you will never have to worry that you are in a "higher class" when you start out.
As spinning is very intense it is advised that you check with your Dr if you are experiencing any health conditions that makes spinning not appropriate.
And if you haven't tried it, go to your nearest gym immediately and sign up!
This is really addictive!
