Step off the scale

Some people weigh themselves several times a day.
Of course the scale won't show exactly the same thing each time as it depends on your body's fluids and the food you've eaten that day.
So why do we weight ourselves?
These numbers that we desperately try to stay within, what do they really mean? How significant are they? Is the scale controlling your life?
It is for many people.
I haven't got a scale and I'm not going to buy one either. I weigh myself at the Pharmacy
maybe once a month and that's OK with me. Unless I am really trying to loose some weight and are more strict with myself. Then I weigh myself once a week. Same day, same time. I think it's important that we don't let a scale be too important to us. What we need to do is be more attentive to our body and it's signals. Use a measure tape instead. Because even if you are still on the same weight you might have lost an inch or two but gained muscles. That you won't know if you step onto the scale.
Depending on what diet you are on it could motivate you to weigh yourself a few times a week but do remember that the scale is just a measurement. If you really want to find out what is fat and what is not you have to get a proper fat measurement.
Anne talks about how she is not afraid of the scale any longer, which I think is very good.
So put away that scale and dust it of once a week, the results might be better than if you weigh yourself every day. Good Luck.
