The new Core Plan
Filed in archive Another Diet on March 24, 2007
You know I actually went to Weight Watchers once.
A friend of mine and I decided that it was time for us to loose a few kilos. I wanted to loose about 5-7 kilos and she wanted to do the same if I remember correctly.
So an evening we went to a small place in the center of London. The atmosphere was welcoming and the coach nice and inspiring. She pep-talked everyone and then it was time to weigh in.
We got our cards with instructions of what we could or couldn't eat. We started talking about points. A red point, a green one, yellow, the greens were the best. You had to be careful with the red ones though, you could save them if you had to eat something special at the weekend for example.
We held out for another 2 meetings I think. Then we surrendered and said no we can't do this anymore. Or maybe I should say we gave up. Laziness?
Personally I just thought the point thing was too difficult. I felt limited. A green here a yellow there, how many yellows have I eaten today? Can I have another red?
WW is a very successful program, one of the absolute biggest proven to work weight loss programs. And I have seen it work for my mother so I know it is successful.
It just wasn't for me.
Now they have a new strategy. The Core Plan strategy. What I understand you are still counting points but you seem to be able to eat more than before. And depending on your lifestyle you can be more flexible. And a new thing I didn't know about is that you can even do it online.
So it wasn't for me but maybe for you? Have you tried WW and how was it?
