To weigh or to measure?
We often look at the scale when we want to try and lose weight.
We weigh ourselves often and get obsessed with the numbers staring back at us. "Next week I will have lost another 0,5 kilo" we usually say and step off disappointed that we didn´t lose more.

Or the week when you have worked out almost everyday and not lost a gram.
You stare at the scale and curse it at the same time.
Well don´t get depressed, there is a better way to measure your weight loss. You might have lost weight but the scale isn´t telling you.

What I do whenever I feel that I have piled on the pounds is keeping track of my measurements instead of staring at those terrible numbers that aren't showing what I want. That´s when I will know if I have really lost or gained. Because the muscles that I built during my workout will replace the fat and still weigh the same.

So dig out your tape measure and measure your arms, thighs, butt and waist. If you want to you can include your chest and hips as well but I usually skip that.
Write down your measurements and see how you change from week to week. It´s the same thing as with weighing, don´t measure yourself everyday or you won´t see the difference.

And remember, no holding your breath while measuring...

Do you go by the scale or by the measure tape?
