by Linda Hernestal da Silva on November 29, 2007
Walking is one of the safest forms of exercise that you can do. It is also one of the easiest.
Even those who are very sick can usually go walking if only short distances. By walking you keep the blood circulation flowing and stretch your legs which is very important when you are sick and can not move a lot.
Hip pain is a common problem as we get older, by walking regularly the chance of getting hip problems decrease with almost 50%.

I would say that staying healthy starts with walking. We only need to walk a little everyday to help our body function. The more we walk and exercise the better for our body, but only walking could actually save your life. Think about that; walking a few meters extra for a healthier life, you can do that can't you?
Being physically active is not just about enjoying getting out and about it is also a vital part of maintaining and improving our health. It can reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and stress as well as helping to control body weight. Physical activity can also help to reduce the risk of osteoporosis with the latest research showing that hip fractures in over 45 year olds could be reduced through regular exercise by up to 50%." -Health Promotion Agency.
