Walking with weights
This morning I went for a walk with my walking buddy M. Along with us came my 3 year old son as well. He didn´t want to use his buggy nor did he want to walk. So of course I had to carry him around.
Uphill, downhill, all the way home.

I definitely got a work out from doing that!
But if you haven´t got a big baby like mine to carry around, and you sure don´t want one, then there are other weights you can use.

There are special weights you can use around your ankles that are just for walking. I have never used them except for some games we did at school. There are several reasons why you shouldn´t use them.

By using ankle weights you can actually harm your body instead of benefiting from it. I think that it is important to listen to your body and be very careful with using ankle weights.
You can however walk with normal weights in your hands that you carry around.
You should be careful though not to get shoulder problems.
If you want to try it make sure you read up on it and pay close attention to any pain that can be related to it.

What ever you decide, have fun exercising!
