Wish you were smarter?

A few days ago I read that there was a recent study about how jogging can make you smarter. Well a quick search and I didn´t find anything about that particular study but the same information from an older study from 2001.
Recent studies have suggested that exercise benefits both brawn and brain. Researchers at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, reported earlier this year that seniors who embarked on a 4-month exercise program showed significant improvement in memory and other mental skills, also known as cognitive function. Other studies have shown that regular workouts can help fight depression, as well.
A more recent study reported on the MSNBC tells us that exercise is a very good prevention for Alzheimer's and other diseases that can affect us as we get older.
Other scientists have found that vigorous exercise can cause older nerve cells to form dense, interconnected webs that make the brain run faster and more efficiently. And there are clues that physical activity can stave off the beginnings of Alzheimer's disease, ADHD and other cognitive disorders. No matter your age, it seems, a strong, active body is crucial for building a strong, active mind.
To conclude; these studies shows that everyday or routine exercise is good for us and will affect us in the long run. We need to keep it up to enjoy the benefits of them though. And having a good memory and feeling good mentally is enough for me to want to continue exercise.
