If you want to tone your body and speed up your metabolism than why not try power walking?
If you are one of those that haven't go a lot of time to exercise than this could be an excellent choice.
Spending just 15-30 minutes a few days per week could be enough for you to see results.
As with any exercise: invest in a good pair of sneakers.
When walking: keep your body upright, move your arms slightly and move your hips. Be careful not to bend your body forward too much.
Try not to swing your arms too much but make sure you do move them, for best result they should be bent at a 90 degrees angle.
When you begin to power walk, take it easy and do intervals. That means, speed up your pace for a minute or two, slow down a bit, and then repeat the same thing.
To find out how many miles per hour you walk simply count your steps for one minute. You can always use that as a measurement to increase your speed. Using a pedometer is also a good way to keep track of how fast you walk.
Try to find a walking group in your area, power walking is popular and maybe there is a group close to you? With them you can exchange techniques and experiences.
If you happen to be in South Wales, UK this Sunday you can participate in the Half Marathon that is arranged.
