Fitness can be reached in many ways. Zumba is a gym class come Latin dance which has taken fitness enthusiasts by storm. This new fitness regime has become very popular among people but most experts are nervous about the injuries it can cause.
Zumba is high energy, aerobic workout that is based on steps taken from dances like the salsa, merengue and others. It was created in the 1990s by fitness instructor and trainer Alberto Perez. Zumba is more of a dance than an exercise and fitness workout. And it is estimated that 12 million fitness enthusiasts are learning Zumba in 110,000 places like yoga classes, fitness centers, gymnasiums. It is fun and new; it is not the regular fitness regime, it is innovative and is a dance party, giving people all the more reason to join it. But it can get a little painful at times for people who are not used to pivotal movements.
Zumba can be harmful and can cause all types of injuries so one should be careful and should always ask one's physician before adopting it as a fitness regime. Instructors are to be certified after they are taught a one day training course; and due to the popularity of Zumba, it is difficult to get a good teacher. So before getting enrolled, ask about the instructor. But then, have fun!
